hey whats up man?
im just chillin in kenya and thought id say whats up. ive been here two weeks now and wont be back for another couple weeks. i just finished up volunteering in a health clinic and teaching at an understaffed elementary school. i gotta give teachers some credit, there job is so much harder than i thought. (kudos to you kelly) the kids here are nice- respectful at least but they all have runny noses that they never wipe.
im staying with a host family. i have a hole in the ground for a toilet and i shower with a bucket of warm water. so many things here remind me of the mission. except im only here for a little more than a month. boo yeah. my friends and i are the only white people for miles and miles around, we get stared at non stop.
so next week we go to tanzania to hike kilimanjaro and then back to nairobi for a safari and then home again home. i crave cafe rio and homemade ice cream like crazy.
keep the peace

Kenny Chesney here we come!!!!
Hey girls! Only 3 more days until the concert-WAAAHOOOO!!! I am sooo excited to see you guys and to hang out! Just don't be surprised by me expanding abdominal area :) Anyways! I am just wondering what the plans are. Who is planning on going early to save spots and where do you guys want to meet? What time do you think we should head over? And I know this is bad, but I don't even remember who all is going-me, Jesyka, Jenn, Bridget, Kari, Shari, and Ericka?? Am I missing anyone?? I think I heard that Kristen wasn't coming this year. I can go early but obviously I don't want to go by myself, so everyone just let me know what you are thinking K? Love you all and see you soon!!

Thanks Kari!!
Thanks so much to Kari for doing an ultrasound for us over the weekend! We were in town over Father's Day, but only for a day so we were lucky we were able to coordinate schedules! We were there for over an hour, so I had a ton of fun looking at pictures of the baby and talking with Kari! It was so fun to watch the baby move and see how much it's grown and developed since our first ultrasound! Hopefully everyone doesn't get sick of me sharing our baby updates all the time! Even if you are, you'll have to deal with it since you are "family" right? :) I just love sharing all the latest news! Anyways, since I would be wondering if I was reading this, I'll tell you...we think it's a girl!! Unfortunately the umbilical cord was kinda in the way, so we couldn't see for sure but Tim and I both have a feeling that when we go to our ultrasound at the doctor's office next week they'll say the same thing. I'll for sure let you know then!!

The heartbeat of a baby girl????
So, we had a doctor's appointment today and we got to hear our baby's heartbeat again. I just have to say that I love that part of going to the doctor! I realize it sounds cheesy, but hearing the heartbeat of a growing baby inside you is the most AMAZING sound ever!!! Anyways, my doctor said that everything sounded great and then he said that the heartbeat was pretty fast and that usually means it's a girl. You should've seen how Tim's face lit up and this huge smile grew across his face! For those of you who haven't heard, he is really hoping for a little "daddy's girl." (I really have no preference-I'm just excited for a baby-and so is Tim) Obviously we don't know anything for sure yet, but I thought I'd share the latest :) We have an ultrasound on the 27th and then we will know, so I'll keep you all posted!

Am I doing this right? I used to make fun of all those nerds on Myspace. com. And now I feel like one of them.
But, it is a good idea, since its hard to keep in touch with everyone.
So because I hardly speak to anyone, except Jessica and Rachel, and (i saw Dave Vuu the other night at a restaurant) but other than that I havent spoken to anyone in a long timmmeeeeeeeeee........ Anyway I am pregnant. Yikes. 2 months now. Jessica knows as does Kelly but now you all know. Not sure how I feel about it. Happy yes, but pretty much my life is over in 9 months.
And, what girls go through..... its just not fair.

Calendar
Hello everyone! As you have probably noticed by now, we put a calendar on the blog. Thank goodness I have a computer saavy husband 'cause as I am sure you can guess I would have NO IDEA how to do such a thing (or how to create a blog for that matter). Anyways, I put in all the bdays that I have, so if I missed anyone please send me an email and I will make sure you get on there. I know I am missing spouse's and kid's (Addyson Aldrich) so I will need those. Just a side note for all the girls....the Kenny Chesney concert is coming up!! WAHOOO!!!! I made sure I put an exclamation point after that one on the calendar:) Is anyone else counting down the days?

jumper cables
after about four weeks of being moved into my new place the last thing on my list of funiture to get was a queen size bed for the second bedroom. for those of you that have purchased a bed recently, you can agree with me that they are expensive. since i had a roommate moving in with me soon, i figured that i would just bite the bullet and go buy a new bed last week. after buying the cheapest bed i could possibly find, i loaded it onto my trailer. it fit very snugly. not more than a half inch of room on either side (width wise) and only about a foot of space lenght wise. let me describe the trailer: solid wood bottom, side rails about 1 1/2 feet high on the front and both sides and then a five foot rear wall that folds down and becomes the ramp when loading is necessary. well, since the mattress fit so snugly (and it was snug) i decided that tie-downs would not be necessary so off i went. bad choice vincent, bad choice.
as i was getting on the freeway and picking up speed i looked back in my rear view mirror just in time to see the front of the mattress catch a gust of wind and then... swoop... the mattress takes flight. blows right out of the trailer, right over the five foot rear gate and then probably an additional five feet in the air. it was beautiful to watch, like a bird taking its first flight. it was flying, floating, soaring, spinning. this mattress was happy. it had done what few other mattresses have done and what other mattresses have never dared to even dream. it had escaped. it was now longer doomed to being a pad that gets slept on every night and jumped on by little kids. it was free now. then slam! it gets hit by a car. now mind you, i try not to swear when i dont have to but this was beyond my control.
i pull over as fast as i can, see it get run over once. son of a.... then i run over to it as fast as i can trying not to get hit by traffiic at the same time. then a semi runs over it. oh shi... err shoot. then i finally get a break in traffic long enough to grab it and drag it back to the side of the road. then i pick it up and put it on my head (a comical scene i'm sure) and back to the trailer for some rethinking on how to get the stupid thing home. by this time i'm thinking i need to tie it down-but how? and low and behold i see the most beautiful thing ever...jumper cables!! can we say white trash? so i finally made it back to my place with my run over mattress tied down to the trailer with jumper cables. my neighbors must have been wondering what kind of red neck they have moving in!
final thought: mattress are tougher than you might think, but tie them down anyway.
